The School
Sri Sukhmani International School, Dera Bassi is managed and run by Shivalik Shiksha Society , New Delhi, Headed by S. Avtar Singh , an eminent educationist who is also the chairman of the school. It is an English Medium Co-educational Senior Secondary School and prepares pupils for All India Secondary School and Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations Conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.

Sri Sukhmani International School is situated in Northen India near Chandigarh on chandigarh-Ambala National Highway 230 kms North- West of Delhi and 12 kms from Chandigarh Airport in lush green natural pleasant and pollution – free environment. The surroundings are picturesque and ideal for an educational institute.

The Faculty
The Director – Principal is the head of the Institution. We believe that faculty is the hub of our learning community . The SSIS attracts qualified , capable , experienced and efficient faculty members of vision all-over India , who have a passion for teaching . At present, the school has a compliment of about 40 members of staff on the teaching faculty and equally committed supporting staff.All the members of staff are fully motivated , sincere, responsible and dedicated to the cause of imparting proper and result – oriented education to the pupils in accordance with the prescribed syllabus under the inspiring and expert guidance and supervision of our Director / Principal.
Aims and Objectives
This emerging school of excellence has been established in 1989 with the singular aim of providing comprehensive quality education of high academic standard in predominantly rural belt of Dera Bassi Sub- Division and to develop the varied facets of a child’s personality and character through a corporate life, close contacts between the teacher and taught and to groom well-balanced , healthy, confident, dynamic citizens with nationalistic leanings and Universal Brotherhood for the society.

Curriculum
The school holds classes from pre-Nursery to Class XII. The medium of instruction is English. Punjabi and Hindi are taught as compulsory subjects.
In addition to the three languages , the school curriculum includes the study of the subjects of Mathematics , Science, Social Science , General Knowledge , Physical Education , Arts and Crafts, Computer Education, Moral Education , Work experience (SUPW) and music.
Primary Classes
English , Hindi , Punjabi, Mathematics, N. Sci. / Environmental Studies, Genral Knowledge , Drawing, Games , Computer Education , Music and Work Experience.
Middle Classes
English , Hindi , Punjabi, Mathematics, Genral Science, Social Sciences, Genral Knowledge , Computer Education , Drawing, Games ,Music and Work Experience.
Secondary Classes
Class IX and X have five compulsory subjects , English , Hindi or Punjabi, Mathematics, Science and Social Science . Internal assessment subject are physical education , Art Education and Work Experience. Computer Education is also provided to the students as per CBSE guidelines.
Senior Secondary Classes
The following combinations of subjects are allowed to Senior Secondary Class XI and XII.
English Core ,Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Education.
English Core, Mathematics, Physics , Chemistry and Physical Education..
Note: Combined Group – Fifth optional Mathematics / Biology can be introduced in place of Physical Education in case of sufficient number of students.
English Core, Economics, Accountancy and Physical Education ( Mathematics would be offered if minimum five students opt for it).
English Core, Economics, Geography, Hindi / Punjabi, Hist. , Pol. Sc. , Phy. Edn. ( The above stream of studies (Humanities) can be introduced if sufficient number of students opting for the same)
