The area of Dera Bassi has seen much demographic changes in the past 15 years. The people were deprived of the advances in the field of medical science like many other parts of the state and the neighboring states. Dental Health is one of the important areas where an advanced Center for services was warranted. Specialties like Orthodontics, Prosthodontics , Paedo dontics , Endodontics , Periodontics etc. are practically non- existent in the city . Their absence and the dire need prompted the Institute to bring up these services. Hence , looking into the public demand and to create facilities for the area and the surroundings, the College of Dental Science was conceived. This will help to the public for excellent Dental Care.

Infrastructure

The Essentiality Certificate as to he requirement of a Dental College in the area has already been obtained from the Punjab Govt.

The building as per specification and norms of DCI (Dental Council of India) has been completed.

It is expected that soon the admission to the students for 100 seats for BDS will be accorded.
